Description

Otley is a 55 foot all steel traditional stern narrowboat built by Malcolm Braine at Norton Canes in 1971. She is powered by a water-cooled Lister STW2 with Hurth gearbox with traditional controls. As you enter the main cabin from the spacious front well deck; through a pair of wooden lined steel stable doors, you first enter the saloon which is fitted with solid fuel stove and corner TV cabinet. Next is the galley with units on both sides of the boat with built in gas hob, new grill/oven, sink with drainer and Shoreline 12v fridge with freezer compartment. Following this is the bedroom with cross double bed. Next is the shower room with full height shower, macerator toilet and wash basin. Beyond this is the engine room and traditional back cabin decorated by Dave Moore heated by a Classic stove. 240v is supplied throughout by means of the Victron inverter/charger located in the engine room. New double-glazed windows were supplied and fitted by Channel Glaze in 2020. Otley has been a much-admired boat and underwent a full modification, 240v upgrade, partial refit and full professional repaint 9 years ago.
