Sabrina is a 70 foot ‘Northwich Trader’ traditional narrow boat built by R W Davis in 2000, numbered 953.
Powered by a vintage Kelvin K3 diesel engine of 66 HP and driven through a Kelvin 2:1 reduction gearbox.
The ‘Northwich Trader’ is based on the design of W.J. Yarwoods working narrow boats from the 1930’s. Long fore and aft swims make for very stable responsive steering and the production of very little wash.

Built by W.J. Yarwood and Sons of Northwich in 1936 as one of 8 pairs of "Middle Northwich Boats" for the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company.
In 1942 she, along with a few others, were selected by the Ministry of War (Transport) to be converted to Ice boats.
Shortened to 40ft and having a 5ft Ice breaking ram and a number of other modification added she is able to break ice several inches thick.
In 1958 a Petter PD3 engine with Parsons gearbox was installed which she still retains.
