Horningsea Cambridgeshire UK
SNOWDROP is our 57’ traditional narrowboat, currently moored at Horningsea, near Cambridge, which we are selling after nine very happy years. She was built by Oak Tree Narrowboats in 2005, with the name ‘Hell’s Kitchen’. We bought her in 2010, renamed her, installed a new cratch cover, and cruised her from Whilton Marina to her present location.
The accommodation comprises one double bedroom with ample storage space beneath the bed and in the wardrobe and cupboard; bathroom with toilet (Thetford Cassette, new in 2015), shower over bath, washbasin; kitchen with gas cooker, sink, food drawers, fridge, microwave, washing machine; dining/sitting room, with two chairs convertible to single beds, TV aerial, multi-fuel stove.
The central heating is powered by a pump which we find more efficient than the normal central heating pump, but which needs to be plugged in when the stove is lit. The shoreline has a Catalytic Converter from 2015. We have modified the aft deck with a flap to allow easier greasing and clearing of the propellor. There is a vacuum machine for emptying the bilges.
There is a wood floor throughout, and wood-panelled walls, making a most pleasant environment for a live-in boat or for cruising. She was blacked in 2015, and the paintwork on the roof and deck needs some attention. We have taken these factors into account in setting the price..
