Due to unforeseen family circumstances I am having to sell my project boat I purchased to restore to its forme glory with the plan to turn the bedroom cabin into a cafe area.
The boat is a beautifully unique looking 1999 John White 44ft Narrowboat. Built on steel plates of 10mm/ 6mm/ 5mm with a 10mm uxter plate. At the last survey in 2022 the lowest hull reading was 5.8mm and baseplate at 9mm with some 1mm side pitting on the hull covering 30%.
I purchased it off my friend who had it for 9 years prior and kept it to the best standard. The sides were shot blasted back to metal in 2015 and 2 part epoxied. Expoxy redone in 2022 and baseplate painted with 4 added anodes to the other 4 that were put on the boat bin 2015.
A full out of water survey was carried out on the boat in June 2022 before the fire.
She has a ‘Lombadini Focs engie’ that was newly fitted in 2004. It has been maintained by Darren Crouch Marine Ltd. New gearbox fitted in 2016, Timing belt changed in 2017 and last full service 8/11/2022
A new Hobbit Stove was fitted in 2018
4x leisure batteries went in new in 2020
BSS until 03/04/2026
When I purchased her she did not run, the engine now runs like a dream and I have commenced to move the fire damaged materials. Some people would want to entirely strip out the boat, I wanted to salvage as much as possible.
Both rear windows are blown out and beyond repair. I purchased larger hopper windows to put in making it better for the cafe area. These will come with the boat
however the new owner may want to fit the same spec that are in there now.
A new stern door was comissione in November for the vessel in keeping with the wooden door on the front of the boat.
I am so sad to be letting her go and hope she finds a new owner that will have her and love her.
