This is a classic Cheverton - as the similar boat owned and beloved by Rod Heikell!
The "New" Campaigner was a slightly bigger version of the Campaigner that had come out of the Cheverton yards previously and is of mahogany strip planking with mahogany and ply topsides.
This particular boat was (we believe, from the "blue book") launched in 1962/63.
She is a lovely looking boat, with classic lines and great woodwork. Just in need of a little TLC, topsides, to make her look great again!
She has the larger 3GM30 engine, which means that the original 3/4 crew berth is pretty much defunc... read more

Bill Dixon (designer of many large Moody's) was commissioned to design two trailer-sailers for Newbridge. The results were the smaller Navigator, and the larger Venturer 22.
These had modern, high-volume hulls, with the visual effect of high topsides and substantial cabin tops disguised by styling stripes of paintwork. The end result is to pack a lot of accommodation into a small, trailerable hull. These boats were built to take outboards in wells in the cockpit and built as bilge keelers.
A compact trailer-sailer with good accommodation for her size, the Venturer makes a good small coas... read more
