Caer Gleaw is a charming 40ft cruiser stern narrowboat, built by Springer and cherished by the same owners for over 50 years. Well-kept and full of character, she’s now ready to begin a new adventure. At 40ft by 6ft 10in, she offers a practical, well-balanced footprint—ideal for both leisurely cruising and manageable mooring.
Powered by a dependable Beta Marine 38hp engine with keel cooling and a PRM gearbox, Caer Gleaw offers reassuring performance on the waterways. Her steel hull, cruiser stern, and straightforward systems make her a comfortable choice for both newcomers and seasoned boaters alike.
Inside, the cabin brings together functionality and homely comfort. Laminate and carpet flooring, ply cabin sides, and sliding windows create a simple, welcoming interior. The galley features a Vanette cooker and Sibir fridge/freezer, with four berths available—one fixed double plus two single chair beds. The bathroom includes a pump-out toilet, shower, and vanity basin, supporting easy, everyday living aboard.
Hot water and heating are provided via a calorifier and Eberspacher system, with approximately 50 gallons of fresh water onboard. Electrical systems include 12v/240v with one starter and two leisure batteries.
Caer Gleaw benefits from a recent blacking in 2024, and comes complete with both a stern cover and a cratch cover for added protection and usability on the towpath or underway. Her Boat Safety Certificate is valid until April 2029, offering peace of mind to prospective owners. Maximum head height onboard is 5ft 8in.

A boat is not valued on its age. The age of a boat is irrelevant. A boat is valued based on who built the hull? Who fitted the boat out and what type of materials were used (Hard wood or MDF etc) What equipment does the boat have (Bow thruster, generator, inverters etc) These are just a few of the many factors that equate to the correct value of a boat.

BUYERS & SELLERS
When you buy a boat from us you pay all monies in to our company clients trust account which means that the buyers and sellers money is protected. This is the same account that solicitors set up for house sales .This money does not belong to the company it belongs to the buyer until the sale is complete and then we pay the seller from the company clients trust account. We cannot release the money from the Clients Trust Account to the seller until the vessel has been accepted and handed over to the buyer because if there was a fault with the vessel and the buyer refused to accept it and wanted their money back we could not do this because the seller would of already had the money. This could become a very costly and messy problem for all parties.
This money never enters our company current account. This also means that we cannot use customers money for other purchases/reasons. If at any point the company went bust then the buyers/sellers money is safe and it would go back to the rightful owner of the money.
We have had this company clients trust account set up from day one to protect our customers money. This account is a secure holding account. We pay the seller monies due from this account when the buyer has signed to accept the vessel. Payment is made from this account to the seller by cheque from the clients Trust Account which is protected guaranteed funds.
