A truly rare opportunity to acquire Marrmite, a 55’ x 6’10” Dutch Barge Style Narrowboat, built in 2008 by Le Skerne Boatbuilders.

Marrmite is much admired on the cut. She is a 4-berth, light and spacious narrowboat ideally suited for London, live aboard or touring. Powered by a Beta 43 engine (2300 hrs), with a potent hydraulic bow thruster (new gearbox Spring 2023). Full 240v electrics via a 3kva Victron Multiplus inverter. 12v supply for lighting (LED), pumping, toilet, horn and windscreen wiper! 330ah leisure battery bank (new July 2022). Heating is from an Alde boiler and a multi-fuel stove. Hot water from a large calorifier heated by engine, boiler or immersion heater. Huge 700ltr fresh water tank and 350ltr pumpout tank. Blacked (two-pack) March 2023. Boat safety certificate until Sept 2024.

Marrmite has a large fully collapsable oak wheelhouse that gives additional space and all year protection from the elements. The wheelhouse is entered by solid doors from both port and starboard, with a welded plastic four panel roof. There is a large movable storage/seating unit and a radiator. Port side helm with classic ships wheel Vetus hydraulic steering and control gear, including VHF radio.

The master cabin is situated at the stern with a huge 6ft wide double bed, comprising two 3ft mattresses which lift up centrally to access the storage space underneath. There are a range of drawer units, radiator, two portholes and a double window at the rear (new July 2020).

From the wheelhouse there are steps (with storage) down into a short corridor, passing the heads and leading into the main living area.

The spacious heads comprises of a large enclosed shower cubical, a pump out toilet, wash basin and some storage cabinets. There is also a radiator and extractor fan.

The main living area opens up into a large bright open plan space with a well designed galley. There is a four ring gas hob, built in gas cooker and grill powered by LPG gas. There is also a microwave and a 12v Shoreline fridge. Along with a standard hot/cold tap there is also a separate filtered water drinking tap. There are numerous storage cupboards, plus space and plumbing for a 240v washing machine/dryer.

The salon has a multi fuel log burner stove and two radiators. A corner bed settee for additional double sleeping space, an oak sideboard and corner fitted tv cabinet with aerial socket.

There is carpeting to wheelhouse and cabin, plus wood effect vinyl flooring throughout the main areas and low voltage LED lights.

Window coverings are a mix of timber blinds, lined curtains and porthole bungs.
