The Duke is a 54’ cruiser stern narrowboat built by Liverpool Boats and fitted out by Devizes Boat Builders in 2004. For the last 6 years she has been part of long term hire fleet based in Oxfordshire.
She has been very rigorously maintained by the current owner being blacked annually, serviced after every hire and had a brand new engine installed in 2022. She will be re-blacked and serviced at sale.
Entering from the bow that has a good condition cratch cover and glazed board, the forward locker is used for storage.
Stepping down in to the (15’2”) saloon. This is completely open plan but has room for a sofabed or two armchairs, and a dining table with 4 chairs if desired. This is what she used to have in her as a hire boat. There is also a solid fuel stove.
Next is the (7’11”) galley which is fully equipped for extended cruising with a Haden fridge with icebox, Vanette GG2200 oven/grill, Focalpoint separate 4 burner hob, and the boaters choice of a Candy Aquamatic washing machine. There is also plenty of storage.
On to the (6’1”) bathroom which is off the corridor. It has a small bath with shower over, a Thetford cassette toilet and a counter sunk sink. It also benefits from an airing cupboard that has a radiator within.
Then we have the (10’6”) bedroom. The bed itself is 6’3” x 4’0”. There is a generous amount of storage with 2 cupboards under the bed, a chest of drawers and a large wardrobe.
The wardrobe also contains the electrics including a Victron Pheonix 2000w inverter. There are 2x 180w solar panels to help keep the 200ah lithium leisure battery topped up.
Lighting on board is LED throughout.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel heater connected to 5 radiators, and hot water is via the Eberspacher, and engine.
The (7’6”) cruiser deck is a great space to entertain whilst moving or while moored. The gas is contained in the locker and the engine under is a year old Canaline 42. This boat is ready to go as a live-aboard or for those looking at extended periods of cruising.
