Quetzal is a 50ft narrowboat moored at the wonderful Lisson Grove mooring and has a fully transferable licence, currently costing £714 per month. Arguably the best, and friendliest, mooring in London, Lisson Grove is the perfect base for anyone who wants to be centrally located - 5 minutes walk to Regent’s Park, 10 minutes to St. John’s Wood, 20 minutes to Paddington and 20 minutes to the West End. The mooring is locked at night and is home to an awesome community of boat owners who regularly get together for music nights, barbeques and other celebrations.

Quetzal has been very well looked after both myself and the previous owners. She was professionally repainted 2 years ago at a cost of £8,000 as well as having the bottom of the boat blacked and replacement anodes attached. Last survey was in 2020 and all points that were brought up were dealt with.

The interior of the boat boasts a lovely double cabin at the rear with a large size guest bed which can be set up in the living area. The kitchen has a gas stove, 12volt fridge and microwave and is very well laid out for ease of cooking. There is also a small deep freeze.

The boat is well insulated and has a full central heating with four radiators so heats up very quickly. A new diesel heater was installed in November 2024. A new compostable toilet was also installed October 2024. The engine has been serviced regularly and the alternator was removed and refurbished off site last year. The boat also has the benefit of a bowthruster which makes handling the boat much easier especially when berthing. There is a lovely sitting out area on the back for up to 6 people which allows for privacy while being able to watch the life of the canal go by. At the front, on the towpath, is a small table and two chairs. There are full cratch covers both at the front and the rear of the vessel which were refurbished at the same time the boat was repainted - these really aid usability especially in the winter months.

Engineered oak flooring was installed 3 years ago. There are a host of other essential extras included in the sale price.

Excellent storage throughout the boat with hanging space for clothes.

This is the ideal boat if you want a comfortable place to live in Central London with the added enjoyment of being able to cruise the vast canal network. The boat is fitted with an inverter to run the electrics when not on the mooring.
