Description

Whisper is a lovely 57’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 2003 by Jonathan Wilson, and fitted out by Darren Aldridge. She was fully repainted in 2017, last blacked in Summer 2023, with 4 new anodes fitted, and polished ready for sale in August 2025.
The cratch covered well deck is 4’1”, with storage boxes which double up as external seating. Clear plastic cratch sections, and a glazed cratch board allow plenty of light into the well deck.
Steps lead down, through glazed stable doors, into the 11’8” saloon. Either side of the steps sit a cupboard and the Stockton solid fuel stove, with the remaining furniture all freestanding. There is a shelving and a cupboard unit, plus 2 wicker armchairs.
Next is the 6’6” dinette, with storage under, and converts to a spare double berth when needed. There is also space in the saloon for a sofa bed if an additional double was needed.
The 7’9” galley features Formica worktops, a Corian sink, a stainless steel 4 burner gas hob (new 2025), Vanette GG7000 oven & grill, 12v Iceking Fridge with icebox (new 2021), and heaps of storage. A starboard side hatch, with demountable screen, and Houdini hatch over, both bringing in additional light and fresh air.
Next is an off-corridor bathroom (5’9”) with a Thetford cassette loo (3 cassettes), ceramic wash basin with chrome taps, and a Showerlux shower with curtain.
The 8’3” bedroom features a fixed 6’3” x 4’0” double berth, with cupboards and reading lights over. The bed can be configured as a full cross bed. There is a large wardrobe with drawers at the foot end, and drawers under the bed too!
Steps lead out into the 3’6” engine room, with the Beta 38hp engine housed below. This was serviced in Summer 2023, and cruised little since. Another step leads out onto the trad stern deck.
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel fired system (serviced 2023) connected to 5 radiators, and hot water is provided by the Webasto, engine, or immersion when on landline.
The windows are all fully opening and double glazed, except for the portholes.
Lighting on board is LED throughout.
12v power is provided by 3x 130ah AGM deep cycle domestics, with a separate starter. 240v power is via the Victron Multiplus 1600w inverter/charger (new Nov 2024), or landline.
She has been beautifully presented for sale, with lots of new equipment over the past few years, and will make somebody a lovely floating home.
