Picnic is a stunning 57’ reverse layout semi cruiser stern narrowboat with an enclosed well deck, built in 2019 by J D Narrowboats. She comes with a number of bespoke upgrades including double glazing, 2 houdini hatches for extra light and fresh air, and she was last blacked with 2pk epoxy in October 2022.
The cruiser stern deck is large at 7’2”, with semi-cruiser style benches either side, and 2 lockers at the aft. Housed below is the Beta Marine 43hp engine, which was last serviced by the owner in April 2025.
Steps lead down into the 14’8” galley. No expense has been spared here, with granite worktops and oak cupboards, 230v Haden fridge, Dualit electric oven, 2 burner gas hob, Belling 8kg washer dryer machine, and plenty of cupboards, shelves and drawers for all your storage needs!
A large breakfast bar follows, with enough space to seat 4 comfortably, and storage under. A port side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air (with glazed internal doors and removable acrylic screen).
Next is the 12’ 4” saloon, with a very large sofa that can convert to either 2 single berths or a spare double, with a 240v Sony 32” TV opposite, and an Arada Hamlet stove sits in the corner with a marble surround.
The 6’0” bathroom features a large rectangular shower enclosure, Thetford cassette toilet, and a ceramic wash basin over a double cupboard.
Following, the 12’0” bedroom occupies the forward cabin, making excellent use of the enclosed well deck. There is a fixed 6’3” x 6’0” double berth with storage either side, as well as drawers and a decent sized wardrobe. A side hatch style opening brings in additional light and fresh air over the bed too.
Access to the bowthruster compartment is from behind the bed, with a Vetus bowthruster to help aid navigation.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel heater connected to 3 radiators and a towel rail. Hot water is via the engine, Eberspacher or an immersion.
12v power is via 4x 100ah lithium domestics (topped up by 670w of solar with a Victron MPPT solar charge controller), with separate starter and bowthruster batteries. 240v power is via a Victron Mulitplus 3kva inverter/charger, Whisper Power generator, or landline hookup with a galvanic isolator.
Lighting on board is LED, including under gunwhale lighting throughout.
