Using only gravity to feed the stove, its incredibly efficient, only drawing less than 1A for the hot water circulation pump. Forget waking up in the middle of the night to add coal to a stove!

She is also Double Glazed, which Significantly increases heat retention.

Construction

Built by Hixton Boats in 2007.

The final ‘Eco barge’ before the boat builder closed its doors.

Built to the highest specification with a 12/10mm double-chinned hull, 6mm topsides, and 4mm deck-head.
Her unique hull shape - as opposed to the standard flat bottom - makes her very sable in swells, and also has the added bonus of being able to move through silted-up areas.

She was surveyed in 2020 (for my own peace of mind (available on request), during an extensive dry docking (Nov 2020), and had a minimum of 11.7mm, which would pass milling tolerances for freshly milled steel.
Any minor recommendations were completed at that time.

Fully grit-blasted, 2 coats of Jotamastic87 (Epoxy), plus an additional 2 coats of Jotun for a UV Barrier.
Topsides all repainted in Jotamastic87, Acrylic, and a tougher paint on the Fwd & Aft Decks.

90hp is more than adequate for inland waterways, and gives great confidence when navigating the Tidal Thames.
Regularly Serviced (Last Sept 2025) with new Filters, Belts, & Oil.
Gearbox Rebuilt and Drive Plate replaced (Due to drive plate failure) in Jan/Feb 2025.
The gearbox connects to a 2" Prop Shaft and 22" (55cm) Propellor, providing great thrust, stopping ability, and not easily slowed with the weeds.
Fitted with Duel Alternators (65A & 185A) for recharging Domestic, Starter, and Bow Thruster Battery Banks.
