Description

Rhubarb is a sweet 54’ cruiser stern narrowboat built in 1991 by Brummagem Boats. She was originally fitted out by Sally Narrowboats, and has been updated over the years to the needs of her owners.
She benefits from a survey in May 2021, available for viewing in the office, and has been blacked every 2 years, most recently in August 2023.
The cratch cover was new in 2025, and protects the 3’11” well deck from the elements. The deck features bench seats either sides, with a folding table for al fresco dining.
Steps lead down, through glazed forward doors, into the 7’2” saloon, with a fixed bench seat along the star board side (converts to a spare single or double as required) and storage shelves behind. There is a Pure DAB CD/radio installed too.
The 10’3” saloon follows, with a breakfast bar area first (with 3 folding stools) and the Hamlet solid fuel stove (new 2023). The main area of the galley features a stainless steel sink, Beko 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill, a portable Alpicool fridge box, and a range of storage options.
A storage area follows, with a single full height wardrobe. This leads onto the 5’11” bathroom, with a hip bath with shower over, plastic wash basin, and a Sealand pumpout toilet. A spare Thetford porta potti is also on board just in case.
Next is the 12’1” bedroom, with a fixed 6’4” x 4’0” double berth, with storage under and a shelf over. Another wardrobe sits at the aft, alongside a set of drawers, and theres even room for an arm chair!
Steps lead out onto the 7’4” cruiser stern deck, with the Lister Petter LPWS 3 cylinder engine housed below. This was last serviced in June 2025, and a new alternator was fitted in 2024. The deck boards were also replaced in 2025.
12v power is supplied by 2x 6v cells, providing a combined 225ah, with a separate starter, topped up by 350w of solar with a Victron MPPT solar charge controller (solar new 2020). 240v power is via the landline only, and a Sterling battery charger is also installed.
Lighting on board is LED throughout.
Hot water is heated by the engine only, and an Alde gas boiler is fitted but doesn’t currently work.
She is ideal for weekends away, and with a few minor upgrades could be a great floating home.
