Description

Teasel is a beautiful semi traditional narrowboat built by Braunston Boats in 1988. Based on a 2024 survey, the hull is in excellent condition with very little loss to the original 10/6/4 thickness. The hull was blacked with 2 pack epoxy in 2024 and boat safety certificate is valid until June 2028. The engine is an Isuzu 42 which has been very well maintained and is in excellent working order. New Victron AGM deep cycle batteries were installed in November last year. A 250W solar panel provides enough power to run a fridge throughout the year and provides all electric requirements from spring to early autumn. Teasel has a lovely, bright, spacious feel. The layout is of a traditional design with original coaching and wooden panels. The kitchen and living room have solid wood floorboards. The sofa in the living room folds down as a guest/day bed. There is plenty of room in the bow to relax and eat meals in good weather. A new cratch cover with roll-down sides was fitted this spring. There is a diesel burner in the living room which is very convenient (no need to collect/buy solid fuel but easily replaceable with a solid fuel burner) as well as a gas heating system with two radiators.
I've had two fantastic years on Teasel and I'm only selling as I'm moving abroad. Whenever family and friends come to visit they say how comfortable, homely, spacious and cosy she is. Most importantly, everything works. This is a perfect new home or holiday boat for anyone ready for some magical adventures on the water!
NB: currently located near Watford on the Grand Union, moving slowly south towards Rickmansworth/Uxbridge
