Dunmow Flitch is a traditional 52FT narrowboat built and fit out by Stowe Hill Marine in 1991 with beautiful bespoke traditional wooden interior.
The current Boat safety certificate is valid to 24/08/2026 and it was last surveyed on February 2020 (available).
She was Blacked last November 2022 with 6 new extra anodes added on top with the existing anodes left on that are about half way through.
The Stern gland was also repacked while she was out of the water.
Interior features:
Beautiful interior with traditional fit-out in veneered panels with matching trim and fitted furniture to a high standard throughout the whole boat, all original and in perfect condition.
There is an L shape built-in sofa with plenty of storage underneath + conversion to a single bed.
A fold-down table for dining plus plenty of shelves and corner cupboard.

A solid fuel stove with back boiler on raised & tiled plinth with cupboard underneath.
Open saloon L- shaped kitchen with a Vanette SL gas oven & grill and a separate 4-burner gas hob

External side-door hatch with ladder steps, works perfectly as a window/hatch and provides plenty of light with traditionally painted feature panels.
The bathroom has a shower cubicle with glazed folding door and ceramic basin with nice tiles.
There is a 2-way in and out fan vent and 2 more storage cupboards.
The bedroom has a fixed double bed with drawers underneath that have plenty of storage, also there are overhead cupboards with 2 reading lights above the bed.
There is a separate storage room which also has a wardrobe inside.
An interior door with steps leads to the engine room (great feature)
All light bulbs are led throughout
Headroom is approx 6’2” max.
Rear area:
Double aft roof slide, one for the steerer or the whole engine room can be opened up similar to a semi trad deck. Very nice and clean room to be honest, really easy access. Plenty of pins, hooks and chain rings for mooring.

ZF10 gearbox
Diesel tank is 50 gallons, pretty good size especially for such an economic engine.
‘’Taff Rail” hard wood topped seats for cruising like a boss.

Hot water is via Calorifier by the engine with a big hot water storage cylinder, Water tank capacity is 150gallons, pretty good size!
2 solar panels of 350 watts each mounted on solidly built boxes for coal/logs storage under panels, nice heavy duty hinges with pins to be able to change panel angles accordingly.
2 separate MPPT controllers, one for each panel. Very effective to keep batteries topped up .
1 starter battery + 3 x 110AH leisure batteries
240v shore connection in place with sockets throughout. Also 12volts sockets
Very nice looking cast iron bars fitted on front doors and windows for security.
Front gas locker which stores 2 x gas bottles (13kg) and dual valve for connecting both at same time .
